In fact, I think he does at least as good, if not better, a job as Tim Allen did in the movies. He does an excellent job with the character. Part of the reason I like this show so much is that Patrick Warburton (David Puddy of Seinfeld fame) plays Buzz Lightyear. Plus, there have been plenty of episodes, so I don't see the same ones that often, even though my son watches them every day.
The show is faithful to the Buzz Lightyear franchise, and has plenty of jokes in it that can keep even a grown up entertained and laughing. I actually look forward to my daily dose of Buzz Lightyear. When the show premiered, though, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Even though the Toy Story movies were great, after watching them for the five hundredth time, they got old, so I wasn't really looking forward to the series (even though my son couldn't wait). So, when we got the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command video and saw that there was going to be a television show based off the video, I knew I was going to have to watch it. Ever since my four-year-old son saw Toy Story, he's loved Buzz Lightyear.
